Richard spent the last 40 yrs protecting, enhancing and creating new Land, Town and Cityscapes for the public, both within and outside the planning system.

Studied in Manchester & the Hacienda in the mid 80s

Worked in Liverpool, Manchester and Oldham from the mid 80s to the 90s

Worked to defend the New Forest in Hampshire from then till the millennium,

Realised the M3 Tyford Down connection would put him in public enquiries for 10yrs so left to start his own practice here in Plymouth then Plymouth City Council since 2003.

  • Countless design advice contributions to planning applications.  

Has 4 adult children and a 20yr old cat and lives with Sue in Millbay by the Palace Theatre.

Loves Carole King, 10cc, Roxy Music, ABBA, The Stranglers, The Clash, Queen, Kate Bush, Patrice Rushen, all Disco, Joy Division, UB40 and will always remain in love with Kirsty MacColl.
