Lynne Sullivan OBE, RIBA

Lynne Sullivan is an Architect and founded sustainableBYdesign, finalists in all three 2010-2012 BRE-sponsored UK Passivhaus prototype Competitions. Previously Lynne was Sustainability Director for 9 years at Broadway Malyan, and for 10 years Associate Director at ECD Architects, where as Project Architect she won an RIBA Regional Design Award, and was co-author and winner of the UK’s first government-sponsored Zero CO2 housing competition. 

Lynne is now a design consultant, Visiting Professor, and industry Board member; sits on local and national design commissions and review panels, and is an RIBA Competitions Design Advisor. She has authored and chairs many policy review and research projects for UK governments and others, including the Scottish Government’s Expert Panel for “A Low Carbon Building Standards Strategy for Scotland”, chairing several projects for Zero Carbon Hub including the Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality Task group and the Performance Gap Design group; two reviews of energy efficiency regulations for the Building Regulations Advisory Committee; and recently chairing the Buildings Mission 2030 Task group for the CLC’s Green Construction Board. 

She was awarded an OBE for services to Architecture in 2011, is Chair of the Good Homes Alliance, and a member of the CLC’s Green Construction Board since its inception.


COVID safety

COVID restrictions in the UK have changed from 19 July. In order for you to feel safe and confident in attending this event, we are retaining cautionary guidance measures to ensure the safety of all attendees and venue staff. The venue is retaining a number of safety measures for visitors to the building. 

Please take note of the following conditions before you book a place. 

1. Please read latest venue information on Covid 19 at 2. This RIBA event is limited to people to ensure social distancing. You are expected to remain at a safe distance from other attendees throughout the duration. To following the University of Plymouth venue guidance.3. You are expected to wear a face covering when inside the building unless you have a medical exemption.4. Please use the hand sanitiser regularly throughout the event5. Please do not attend if you are showing any sign of symptoms, have tested positive for Covid 19 in the 10 days prior to the event, or been told to self-isolate through NHS Track and Trace. 6. You are asked to check in via the NHS Track & Trace app (QR codes at all entrances) or complete a Track & Trace form (available at all entrances). 7. Please consider taking a lateral flow test (LFT) in the 24hrs ahead of attending.8. Please be courteous and considerate to other attendees, and RIBA and venue staff

RIBA event T&Cs

• Registration of attendance is for use by the registrant only. Registration information should not be forwarded on to third parties. Doing so may hinder your own access, as entry is by prior registration only. Third parties will need to complete their own registration.

• RIBA reserves the right to refuse admission to any ticket holder.

• RIBA reserves the right to suspend the Event and make changes including the date/time of the Event for any reason. You shall be responsible for checking with RIBA whether alterations have been made.

• If You are able to attend the revised Event, these Terms & Conditions shall continue to apply. If You promptly notify RIBA in writing before the date of the Event that You do not wish to attend the re-arranged Event, RIBA shall reimburse the Fee to You

• RIBA may (at its sole discretion) cancel an Event at any time for any reason and shall in such event reimburse the Fee to You

• The personal data you provide is managed via Eventbrite in order to provide a better service. 

• If the RIBA has to postpone or cancel the event the booker is entitled to a full refund of the ticket price only.* 

• Cancellations must be made in writing to riba.southwest@riba.org. No refunds can be made for cancellations notified within 30 days of the event unless due to non-attendance due to symptoms of COVID-19, or being asked to self isolate by NHS Track & Trace. 

• To transfer your ticket/s to another individual/s, please contact claire.bower@riba.org of its occurrence to enable RIBA to correct any errors as soon as reasonably practicable. Please contact riba.southwest@riba.org in order to do so.

• No refunds are issued for events after the event has taken place
