Change starts with your thoughts.

Future Plymouth 2030 began as a series of online events during the Covid lockdowns intended to discuss collaborative journeys required to achieve reduced carbon development, presenting some of the tools necessary to realise a sustainable city and help to define a better path for a viable future for Plymouth.

Future Plymouth 2030 started in 2020 as a series of fortnightly webinars delivered online on a whole host of topics ranging from the practical skills and technologies required to design and build better performing new buildings, how to tackle retrofitting existing buildings, biodiversity and carbon sequestration to the education and behaviour change required to achieve any of this. More topics emerged as more partners engaged and the programme was really diverse!

We put on 30 webinars over the first two years and nearly 2000 people attended them live, demonstrating a desire to learn, share and upskill on these topics. The series gained some serious recognition and a couple of awards too!

Most of the webinars were recorded and are hosted on our You Tube channel which can be accessed from the ‘Watch again’ tab at the top of the web pages. Please do use this useful source of information to educate and upskill yourselves and share with others.

Future Plymouth 2030 now continues as a representative and collaborative entity, representing Construction and the Built Environment on boards and steering groups of organisations in Plymouth and the South West to get challenging the status quo and moving our industry towards better sustainability and carbon reduction if we are to have any chance of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2030 or even 2050 - it’s a bit like changing the direction of a tanker! But with growing interest and support, sharing knowledge and experience of successful projects to empower others to do the right thing and make better choices then we might stand a chance!

We still have regular collaborations and events ongoing - please join the mailing list to keep up to date and to learn about any events that you might want to join us for.

Together we can make this happen!
