Jessica Vaughan
Jessica Vaughan is a Chartered Planning Officer at Plymouth City Council. She has worked in the Strategic Planning and Infrastructure department since graduating from Cardiff University with a Masters in Planning, Practice and Research in 2013. She is also a Planning Aid England volunteer and a member of the South West Task Force.
Jess has extensive experience of public consultations and enjoys working with the voluntary and community sector to ensure everyone has an opportunity to engage with the Council. She is passionate about helping communities get involved in the planning process and embraces innovative consultation techniques, which was apparent during the Plymouth Plan consultation where a sofa was moved around the city to encourage people to comment. She is interested in how innovations can make planning more accessible and shape communities and has been a key player in the DATA Play, Crowdfund Plymouth and Interactive Plan projects.
Jess also leads on neighbourhood planning, supporting local groups to write their own local plans whilst ensuring they’re compliant with current and emerging national and local policy.
