Niki Read
Niki Read is a registered architect, she has worked in the construction industry both in the UK and New Zealand for over 20 years delivering multi million pound developments across multiple sectors including social and high end housing, hospitality and leisure, education and defence. Her career also includes geotechnical engineering in Canada and developing both large and small scale urban regeneration schemes internationally.
Niki now works for Plymouth City Council as an Urban Designer in the Strategic Planning and Infrastructure department. She is part of the team leading the delivery of the capital program for Plymouth City centre, is a consultee for Strategic Planning Applications and is an active participant in actioning the councils Climate Emergency Action Plan.
Niki is an accredited practitioner in Healthy Streets and strongly believes that every decision we make about our built environment, however small, is an opportunity to deliver better places for people to live in.
