Rod Smith

Rod Smith is a highly versatile Chartered Engineering Geologist and Chartered Scientist with over 30 years experience working in the UK, the South West and in and around Plymouth.  Rod has considerable expertise in complex geotechnical problems,  ground investigations,  rock and soil slope engineering.  Rod has an interest in karst geology and in particular the limestone karst of the South West.

Rod has worked with many of his colleagues at JGP on a several large projects within Plymouth including the redevelopment of Mount Wise and Tinside swimming pools,  Millbay redevelopment and several City Centre Projects. Several of which are located on the Plymouth foreshore.

Rod is interested in promoting the geosciences in the South West and is currently secretary of the South West Regional Group of the Geological Society of London.

Rod is also a registered Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC) and Qualified Persom under the SiLC scheme.
