Tess Wilmot
Permaculture designer and edible landscape specialist
Tess is a freelance facilitator, project designer and events organiser in the fields of permaculture, edible landscapes, community growing and community involvement.
In 2003 Tess attained the Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design which has informed and enabled her work ever since. Tess’s work is based on the practical application of designing green spaces, both large and small for abundance and attractiveness for people and wildlife. Capacity-building and mentoring work with local people is fundamental to Tess’s practice. Working with nature and thinking outside the box to co-design and co-deliver creative solutions with the people living or working in those spaces is central to this.
Tess has worked throughout Plymouth since 2008, notably with housing associations, the City Council and communities, co-designing and co-delivering projects with residents around improving the environment and the quality of life. Tess has been actively involved in Food Plymouth, the city’s local sustainable food partnership since its launch in 2010.
In 2018 Tess facilitated the co-design and co-delivery of the Food Plymouth Growing Community Abundance project with local community growers. This initiative was designed to fill identified needs around resourcing a new generation of community growers and supporting them in their amazing work towards making their communities fruitful and abundant.
