Adam Longfield

Adam is a Senior Consultant at BRE National Solar Centre.

Prior to joining BRE in 2017, Adam spent 6 years as a Solar Design Engineer for a multi-disciplinary renewable energy company, designing and helping to deliver rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects up to 5MW. He is well respected amongst the solar industry’s partners and stakeholders.

In his current role Adam delivers bespoke feasibility and technical consultancy for a broad range of clients in both the private and public sector, focussing on solar photovoltaic (PV), energy storage and grid services. Recently completed projects include bespoke solar PV strategies/ feasibility reports for local authorities; quality assessments for several solar PV systems at all scales; collaboration on a UK Government-funded project looking at domestic Demand Side Response (dDSR). Adam was previously delivery lead for Cornwall New Energy, a £3.3m ERDF project which supported Cornish SMEs to reduce energy consumption, generate renewable energy, and develop energy-related products, services and solutions.

Adam has experience of electric fleet vehicles and LED lighting in commercial environments. He also helps to support the wider team using GIS.

Adam is currently on part-time secondment as Project Manager to SW Energy Hub covering the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly (CIoS) area. SW Energy Hub is a BEIS-funded programme which sets out to identify and co-ordinate the development of local energy projects, working closely with local authorities. In this role Adam has recently helped support a scheme to deploy solar PV on 600 social housing properties in Cornwall.
