David has a key role in Stride Treglown’s education sector work. He has led numerous successful schools bids for Devon and Cornwall School. David has furthered this role in the education sector having recently led the re-development of InterCity Place for the University of Plymouth, up to RIBA stage 3. A conversion of a 10 storey 1960’s building above Plymouth Railway Station into specialist teaching for the faculty of Health and Human Sciences
More recently David has started to design a DfE pilot project, for a local primary school under the MMC framework, to determine the most effective way to take a volumetric school layout and ensure it can be delivered to achieve Net Zero Carbon. We are considering options that can be rolled out to future schools. This might include design for re-use, monitoring of energy usage, increased insulation and U Values or the balance of daylighting and overheating.
David is also chair of Stride Treglown’s Employee Forum. From strategy to governance, he leads a group of 12 employees who collect feedback from staff and share this with our board of directors.
